If you were to understand the entire Bible in one sentence, what would it be? A. The Bible is a “game of hide-and-seek between fleeing humans and God seeking them out.” Rather than a success story of humans finding God, the Bible is a story of God relentlessly pursuing humans who are fleeing into sin and conflict. Therefore, the Bible offers hope that God is still coming toward us, even amidst the failures and anxieties of our lives. Q. How is Genesis relevant to our lives today? A. Genesis states that the world was not created through violence and domination, but through God’s love and joy. Those who believe in God as the Creator must live with an attitude of cherishing and respecting people, the world, history, and daily life, rather than treating them carelessly. This connects to a life in which we view others in our homes, workplaces, and relationships not as competitors or tools, but as objects to be loved. Q. What should faith hold onto when experiencing incomprehensible suffering? A. The Book of Job honestly confronts the reality that suffering can come even when one lives righteously. The important question does not lie in fully explaining “why this happened,” but in whether we can still revere God even when He does not treat us according to our will. Ecclesiastes and Psalms show that even amidst a life beyond our control, we can live out the time given to us today as a gift, and that even our lamentations can become prayers offered to God. Q. What does the New Testament ultimately say? A. This video explains the entire New Testament as the story of the Kingdom of God revealed in Jesus Christ. Amidst the violence of the Roman Empire and the discriminatory distinctions of Jewish society, Jesus showed the path of love, self-humiliation, and service. The New Testament testifies to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, as well as the life of the community that follows Him. Q. Does the occurrence of conflict within the church mean that faith has failed? A. It states that the early church was not a gathering of only angelic people. Conflict arose because people with different lifestyles, cultures, and orientations gathered together, and Paul wrote letters to resolve such issues within the Gospel. What is important is not the absence of conflict, but remembering within the Gospel why we gathered in the first place. Q. What does the Book of Revelation show Christians living today? A. It explains the Book of Revelation as the future victory and conclusion that God reveals amidst desperate situations. Between the crumbling old world and the new world yet to be completed, what is required of the saints is a patient faith. The direction of faith is to live with the suffering Lamb at the center, looking forward to the new heaven and new earth that the Lord will complete. ︾ 💡Want more faith videos?💡 죽어서 받는 구원 배우러 왔다가 일상까지 구원받았습니다｜김학철 교수｜잘잘법 ...
