Former 50 of 75 years a hobo. GOOD HAUL. The very best thrift store budget item. I got a middle weight, down , mummy sleeping bag. $3 , because it had a few rips. Duct tape took care of them. Carried it for a number of years. I stashed my gear once near a freight yard when I got off a train. Ran to a quickie mart for a supply run. Came back and someone had gone thru my gear. Just took the bag. But scattered my gear all over. Had to be watching me, tho I didn't see anyone around when I stashed it. I saw cheap blue tarps for a couple of bucks pretty often as well.

I just made it home from a 34 mile one way hike back into the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming. I am 65. I was on a heart transplant list from 2020 through this past January when God blessed me with my heart healing itself. Our group of 4 ages 45, 65, 69 and 71 made this our last hurrah into the high country. I started out with a very simple camp and not enough for the winters in Wyoming. I have carried a umbrella just like yours since 1982 or so. I came walking into camp in a light rain and spoke out "look, I'm Mary Poppins ya'll" (Guardians of the Galaxy). I respect and appreciate your channel more than words can say. Your basic but adequate approach to camping is a lost art my friend. Thank you and God bless

I miss the opd army surplus stores that was common in the 70s and 80s. That was a great place to find treasure for camping. I truly enjoy your videos. Thanks for making them.

For my hatchet 🪓 I use an old leather glove for the cover. It works well since it has a reinforced notch that fits nicely around the handle

I have that same Coffee pot that I bought for $6 in 1990. Just pulled it out yesterday and it made me smile. All the memories of camping with that pot.
