I've done every type of selling there is and my biggest tip is flex your sense of humour if you have one. Make your customers laugh and that immediately disarms them. 😅

Key takeaway: focus on how you make the prospect feel before you even try to make them think—emotions drive decisions first

I’ve been in sales for fifteen years, and my pro tip is to respect your customers’ time. This vid could have been done in half the time 😂

I just started in sales 3 weeks ago. I was doing the follow the script, and got it worked technique, and it did somewhat. I started throwing in icebreakers like “hey your neighbor 5 door down Mike said you keep an alligator in your back yard. I was just wondering if I could see it” they laugh, then I’m in the door. But I never thought about how my tonality could be effecting my sales number. I’m gonna have to work on that. Thank you

Why would anyone ever ask "How's the weather?" Even if you were talking to someone in another country, you wouldn't say this. It's an immediate disconnect, because honestly, who cares? The first thing you should teach is to ask questions that matter to the seller, and these are questions that they can actually use to build trust and a business relationship or to understand more about their business struggles, if the client is unwilling to engage in small talk.

Second, Tonality? Are you actually going to train people to recalibrate their tone? The most important thing for sellers is to be genuine in their tone because buyers are not stupid; they know when you're faking it or if it's scripted.

Third, Predictable? Yes, sellers can be predictable because they've all been trained in the same manner and method that tells them to be predictable.

This is what I hate about sales gurus pretending they have that "one for all" sales answer. Whatever method is being pushed, just remember that it serves only as a guide, and cannot work 100% with all clients because people are different. Different cultures, preferences, styles, etc. So there is no one method that is 100% effective. I was in sales for 10 years, I've been teaching sales for 17 years at a university, and the best you can do in sales is to understand what your client needs, wants, and worries about so that you can effectively match them with the right product or service that makes their life easier. And if you do that, then that's the value you bring, and it doesn't really matter what your tone sounds like.

An incredibly clear reminder that we all have 'life experiences/life history/life-learning', and reminder that despite adversity, we have choice - in fact out of adversity we have the opportunity to acknowledge what has buoyed us away from remaining in effect of those limiting events - the positives we've learned and re-applied to make a choice to be 'the best we can be!' To your positioning - to your life! Thank you for your inspiration, Richmond Dinh❣
