The most iconic honorable mention has to be Hudson and Ripley from Aliens.

"Let's just bug out and call it even, okay? What are we talking about this for?"
"I say we nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
"Fuckin' A."

an honorable mention in this category is (2013) skinwalker ranch, one of the character's is arguing with the rest who want to stay after all the spooky shit and just steals the car and drives off

Actually, the Doctor also survived the Demeter. By sheer luck and force of will but still

The parents from Butterfly Kisses who immediately sold the house once they discovered the tapes 😂 they're my all time goats when it comes to characters being just NOPE!

You accidentally said Dracula was written in 1987, not 1897. You must have swapped the two middle digits.

I feel like in the mist she made it because the mist was just setting in and no monster was shown. So maybe the monsters where farther away so when she left there were none in the area if the people had left at that time odds are they probably would have all lived if they got to shelter before the eye of the mist got to them. Like the eye of a tornado but reversed where the edges are safe and the center has the more dangerous monsters

I mean, the title does say when the characters just leave the horror movie but...

I was expecting you to talk about characters that actively dip out of the clearly bad situation, which you did. But you threw in a couple where it's just Pure Luck that they uninvolved themselves, which I wasn't expecting to qualify.

Glad to see another person who like The Last Voyage of the Demeter. It's very underrated
