wes craven, asked for the hills have eyes remake, because he saw the new tech and wanted to make the movie he envisioned in the 70's, its why its probably THE best remake

Wes craven intended him to be that vile, but a current scandal forced that into subtext but if you pay attention to Nancy's mom when she described freddy it's obvious what he is and does.
Otherwise good video just sick of hearing this false point reiterated.

Am a huge horror fan. As is several of my friends.
We never hated the Freddy being a PDF added to the remake. Since it fit the OG's plot they couldn't use because of scandals.
What we did hate was the lack of decent dark humor. Some of the acting. And the whole "Is he actually innocent?" Plot that got thrown out. It was so stupid to try and claim he was an innocent, but then back out and be "LOL nah, he totally was always this messed up".

I feel I have never left the gritty and uncomfortable era of the 00s, the 2010s and now the 2020s all feels the same, a grey and bleak world with violence around every corner

I’ve always said My Bloody Valentine 3D was probably one of the most underrated slasher films of the 2000s, and possibly of all time. Flaws aside, it’s just so entertaining and has a wide array of great kills

Freddy vs Jason is an amazing sendoff for the "original" franchases. The soundtrack and the large chested protagonist will forever live in my skull rent free.

As someone who didn’t get into slasher films until Scream 4, I was baffled when I watched the TX Chainsaw & Friday the 13th remakes. Immensely underrated & overhated. Great video.

15:07 Thank you! Friday the 13th is my comfort series but I hate that the remake gets called a cash grab of course it is it’s literally in its DNA

3:45 I saw a video describing the genre as “Nu Metal horror” in honor of the music genre being used a lot in the movie soundtracks. I’m not sure if every 00’s movie had Nu Metal but it’s a good candidate for the title.
