Ours isn't something that fits in a suitcase. It's leaving enough room in the itinerary to say yes when someone invites you to coffee, lunch, or a village festival. Those unplanned moments have become our favorite souvenirs.

Generally I do not check luggage, so essential must haves you didn't mention that I will always bring are: a mini first aid kit, with Tylenol, moleskin, Immodian, alcohol swipes, Dramamine (if I plan to hike, then first aid kit has more things), on long haul flights I absolutely bring a "jet lag hydration kit" in my personal carry-on, that includes mini items for my eyes, lip, face and hands/arms, and lastly a foldable hat with UV protection.

Since I read The hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy I always carry a towel, it really saves your ass in so many situations, I have a microfiber one that packs really small, I tend to use it mostly as a blanket on the plane, but also as a towel and sitting surface.

After walking two Caminos, I keep my carry-on/backpack to under 10 kg which is 10% of my body weight. I live out of that for eight weeks...

You guys take a TON of stuff… I can't imagine...

I use solid soap shampoo and conditioner bars so no worries about liquids for security nor spills/leaks in luggage. It also last longer than equal size/weight liquids. I also use a ugreen power charger that has 2 USB c and 1 Usb A ports and 120amp so I can plug in 3 devices including a laptop and charge them all at once. It is much smaller and lighter than a laptop brick/cable set up. I switched to all USB C devices (laptop, ear buds, Bose ANC headphones, cell, portable fan and power banks) so only 1 cable will work for everything and 2-3 for extras and charging multiple devices simultaneously. A small portable fan is great for heat and white noise when sleeping and also doubles as a power bank. Crystal deodorant stick is smaller than most solids, doesn't leak or leave residue on clothes and last for many months while only costing under $5. Buy the small version. Duluth Armachillo T shirts and underwear are awesome as they are thin, lightweight, moisture wicking and cooling with jade fibers that pack small and don't wrinkle. They are not cheap but a super value as I have T shirts and underwear from 6-7 years ago I have worn daily.

I don't get how you can bring so much stuff and actually travel around so much :D Seems like hassle.

For charging, what I would recommend is Skross MUV Micro + Satechi 165W GaN PD charger. It can intake any worldwide voltage. You don't need separate converter. And more importantly those USB-C ports can be bought near you instead of them being in some difficult place where the power socket is. You can just leave individual chargers like macbook power brick etc. at home. This setup is way more powerful and compact than what you seems to have.
If even that's not enough, get Anker Prime Charger 200W instead. More power and more ports. But same handy compact form factor. All you need is USB cables to charge your devices, no need for any extra power brick.

My biggest game changer was creating a "night stand" bag. It's a small bag for all of those little things you have at home next to you in bed but don't think about (or get spread out when packing). The big one here is my phone charger, I have one of those foldable 3 in 1 chargers (phone, air pods, apple watch), a cord and a small brick. Other things include lip balm, ear plugs, eye mask, hand lotion, tissues, etc... Just those small touches that you don't think about until you climb into bed and you don't want to get back up haha I have duplicates of most of those items (not the charger) in my purse or backpack and stuff, but I really like having one bag with them that I can just grab and know I've got those little luxuries covered.

EARPLUGS along with my eye mask... not being able to sleep is ROUGH when traveling! We travel with carry-on and a personal item if at all possible... not dealing with checked baggage is wonderful:)

Compression packing cubes are fantastic. They’re great for reducing the bulk of clothing. Big difference between them and plain packing cubes or vacuum sealing bags.
