The brother didn't just lie to his parents; he committed serious legal offenses including financial fraud and misrepresentation under oath. Fabricating documentation and lying directly to a court of law moves this from a family dispute into major criminal territory. When you combine corporate fraud with systemic deception of the legal system, you are easily looking at a realistic 8 to 10 year sentence in a state penitentiary. He completely destroyed his own future just to maintain a temporary lie.
