  I married into a large Polish Catholic family. I have a niece with down syndrome, a nephew with cerebral palsy and THE most accident prone husband and brothers in law that all have pieces and parts missing and a father in law that had his leg shot off in ww2. I myself have MS. THIS is the only one of these stories that has ever seemed realistic and was truly touching and personal. I sent the short to my husband, he teared up. And the full story has to be listened to at a later time. Thank you for this story❤

  My great aunt had polio.  Her siblings treated her like an insult to our family.   My parents took her in and she was the sweetest person I've ever met.  Those who disregard people with different realities are small, ignorant fools.

  That grandfather was horrible. He wasn’t content with having lied to his wife and letting her spend her life grieving for a child she believed was dead. He had to make a nine year old child feel defective because he wanted to tell himself that abandoning his first born was “how things were done.” What a despicable human.

  Mom&apos;s family was Polish, both sides, all 4 grandparents immigrants arriving before WWI and from Empires that no longer exist. Family to them was and is still inclusive: blood, married into, adopted into, adopted from, live next door,.<br>Sexual orientation isnt a disqualifier, though you WILL get peppered with nosy questions. The one thing you can never say was/is, &quot;No more Babci, I&apos;m full&quot; lol

  My husband&apos;s grandfather was like this guy. He wielded his jerk-off crudeness with pride. He was rarely &nbsp;challenged, no point to that. He was not open to anything &nbsp;resembling being sorry or responsible for the hurt he caused. I have always wondered if these nasty &nbsp;character aspects are genetic. A husband and four children proved me right.

  Honestly i probably wouldn&apos;t have said anything but a good comeback at the start would&apos;ve been back in the day we sent the older generation away. A bit harsh after listening to the full story but you don’t treat family like that.
