  My Dad and I stopped talking for 6 months in the 80s before I sent this song to him. My mother forced him to listen to it. He called me two days later. We never fought again, he died in '95

  I didn&apos;t speak to my father for 5 years prior to his death. We had a falling out. Then one day, i called him. He was very sick and was dying. We talked for about 10 minutes. Said our good byes. I called him 2 weeks later and said everyrhing i needed to. Told him nothing matters and that i loved him. He died 3 days later. All thise years i wasted being angry. Id give anything to have 5 minutes with him again.<br><br>Buckaroo

  I&apos;m 58 now and I cannot listen to this song without shedding a few tears. My dad and I were very close but he grew very ill quickly 10 years ago. He battled for a while and I thought he was doing better. But, my mom called me <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVRNDMLRciM&amp;t=390">6:30</a> one morning and found him dead outside from a self inflicted gun shot to his heart. He couldn&apos;t handle the pain; knowing he was not going to get better; and never wanted to burden anyone to care for him. I never got to say goodbye to him and man does it hurt. If there&apos;s anyone reading this and holding a grudge with your parent; sibling or close friend, get over it and make up. Love your show Stacey!

  My father passed away in 1995. I live about 600 miles distant from his home. He was suffering from lung cancer at that time. My sister is a nurse and was caring for him, at his home. I&apos;m so glad that I told him that I loved him, during our last visit together. I clearly remember waking up from sleep around 12:30 in the morning about three weeks after I had last seen him. I strongly felt his presence in the room with me and was feeling at the same time, love. I next felt that he had left. About five minutes later, my phone rang. It was my sister calling from North Carolina. She told me that she was at dad&apos;s bedside and that he had passed away. I feel so grateful that my father visited me in spirit, to let me know he loved me and to say goodbye.❤

  You&apos;ve got me bawling with this one, Stacy. &nbsp;3 months ago today, my younger brother turned 60. &nbsp;On Sunday, my sisters and I scattered his ashes to the ocean where spent our childhood. &nbsp;We shared a room while growing up. &nbsp;We laughed and fought. &nbsp;We got into trouble together. &nbsp;We shared our love of music, introducing each other to new bands and styles. &nbsp;All I can say is that we should never miss an opportunity to make time for the people we love. &nbsp;Never miss an opportunity to say &quot;I love you&quot;.

  My dad died about four years after this song came out and we never bridged the gap. There are things in life you have to live with that you wish you didn&apos;t. Not easy.
