NEW GWM Tank 500 3.0L Diesel Review: CANCEL YOUR PRADO ORDER?!

CHEAPER THAN A BASE PRADO?! The new GWM Tank 500 with the 3.0L turbo diesel has landed, and it might just have disrupted Australia's biggest SUV segment. The Everest, Prado and MU-X have owned this space for years, and now there's a proper seven seat body on frame 4WD that undercuts almost all of them. The Vanta trim we're driving is $71,990 AUD drive away, with the Lux starting at $65,990 AUD drive away. The new 3.0L four cylinder turbo diesel makes 170kW and 620Nm, which is more torque than a Ford Ranger V6, paired to a bespoke nine speed transmission. GWM claim 7.1L/100km, and with the main 78L tank plus a 53L auxiliary tank, that's up to almost 2,000km of claimed range. It also gets the new AT-1 local suspension tune, and the difference is enormous.
