Even if I've listened to that song for sure over 500 times, I'm always awaiting for that drum drop, holding my breath... that's when you can begin to breath!

As a former drummer and singer and using a head mic for many years, it comes down to really getting in touch with and strengthening your core. So all your arm and leg movements don't really translate to the torso as much. I always envisioned it as having my stomach and back muscles being a corset. Oh and the right posture is real help and almost a necessity.

I've often noticed that opera singers tend to stand fairly still when singing; generally avoiding walking down steps or anything that might disturb the diaphragm. How on earth Phil manages to beat the hell out of a set of drums while still singing in such a controlled way is a mystery.
