In those days, you really had to be able to sing, play an instrument, and have talent. Real talent. No autotune or other ways to cheat. That was the real deal.

My wife and I were at this concert, and the video does not do it justice. The emotion in the room was undescribable.!!! no autotune no lip-synching no glitter cannons, no ass shaking!!! This song defined the generation if you really want your heart broken. Watch the video of the song by him another day in paradise.

No, it's NOT autotune! The man has an incredible amount of talent. I read an interview he did once and he said the story about the drowning man wasn't true. This song is based on a difficult divorce he was going through at the time.
