  My headcanon for how the failed vessels escaped the Abyss is, no matter how tight you think you&apos;ve closed your doors and windows, the odd bug always seems to get in somehow...

  Remember that at the end of the day; this is story has a parable about a broken family. A father who believed his way was the only way, and who favoured only one child. A golden child burning out and breaking under the expectations thrust upon them. A half-sister who takes a long time to bond with her sibling. And an unfavoured child coming to terms with the fact that they were unwanted - understanding the reason for the &apos;void&apos; within them that they can never fill, and rather than spending their life seeking the love and affection of their parents; moving forward with their own life and accepting their parents will not change nor look at them.<br><br>A mother who may have cared, but not enough to intercede and was more preoccupied mourning the children lost than the ones she still had, and then trying to reunite with the adult child long down the line.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG9vxzTYF7E&amp;t=766">12:46</a> a pretty big hole in your theory opens up here. i think its much more likely Hornet is testing the vessels in combat to see who is worthy to bare the King&apos;s brand, and the White Lady was probably made aware of this. after all, lets not forget Hornet&apos;s achievements are literally called &quot;test of resolve&quot; and &quot;proof of resolve&quot;, indicating shes clearly picking out the vessels who aren&apos;t worthy of bearing the king&apos;s brand

  Monomon could be in on the conspiracy to she is the only dreamer that wants the seals to be broken she even sent quarrel with her mask away and then called him back back when a vessel appeared from the wastes

  Just a suggestion, maybe the reason Hornet didn&apos;t want the Knight to face the Hollow Knight was because she was worried they&apos;d fail and the Hollow Knight would be let out, it&apos;s the source of the Infection, look what just undoing one of it&apos;s seals did to the Crossroads, imagine if that thing were to be let loose on Hallownest

  When you think about it? The white ladies supposed “plan” seems like an inverse of the pale Kings failed one ? Instead of imposing her own will on the vessel like the pale king did with the hollow knight she guided it to a path that their own will would be needed instead of wanting it to obey her she hoped it would do its own will

  Important to note: in the white palace, we see the white lady&apos;s silhouette on a chair next to a cradle. It seems likely that this represents the queen taking care of the hollow knight. Its entirely possible that during the raising of her own child she realised its limitations, and from there on out she could have been thinking about what went wrong and how to fix it.

  Here&apos;s my thoughts on the charm designs: the Kingsoul symbolizes a union between higher beings, what else can symbolyze this particular union? Creatures which were birthed from it, eg. Vessels. The Kingsoul symbolizes a vessel, or more accurately, a vessel&apos;s outer form, and transforms into Voidheart the same way a vessel upon death splits open to reveal the shade inside. Plus the similarities to a Vessel&apos;s parents you listed. The Voidheart symbolyzes a Vessel&apos;s Shade and looks like a colourless (as they&apos;re described in the Wanderer&apos;s Journal) egg being swallowed by the Void.

  I don&apos;t quite understand why everyone is fixated on how vessels escaped the void. Hollownest is a gigantic underground cave/tunnel network and the abyss is clearly larger than what we explore, it feels more than easy to believe that there&apos;s another route out hidden somewhere. Maybe one that takes you outside hollownest, which would explain why the knight came from the wastes.
