The history of the early 1500s Portuguese armadas is more incredible than science fiction. Thank you for your outstanding work in presenting these stories to all of us!

D. Francisco of Almeida was badass. After his son's death, in is letter to Malik Ayyaz he told him to be ready for his vengeance he said "you ate the chicken, know then you will have to eat the Rooster or pay for it". And when the city of Diu was burning he said to the heavens "My son, you couldn't have a candle lighted in your funeral. Today I lighted you a city"

I’m a history buff and this is my favourite YouTube channel. Firstly the story is told in a colourful fashion and the graphic presentation is outstanding. Next it is a series of events that does not have a big profile in the English speaking world. A journey of discovery for me, as exciting as any Hollywood blockbuster. Well done and thank you.

As a direct descendant of Captain António Leme "The Navigator," who fought in the capture of Arzila & Tangier during the North African campaigns (15th century), I greet all Portuguese and Brazilian descendants of this valiant and spirited people, who forged their history not without cost... after all, as the greatest Lusitanian poet so aptly said: <br> <br>"E em perigos e guerras esforçados, <br>Mais do que prometia a força humana, <br>Entre gente remota edificaram <br>Novo Reino, que tanto sublimaram" <br> <br>Greetings from the New World (Brazil) to the great and dear Portugal.

If the US or even Mexico were colonized by the Portuguese, there would be dozens of movies about these badass men. Francisco and Lourenço were everything we imagined about conquerors fighting under unfavorable odds for their Homeland and for their pride.
