Back at rugby after around 13 years. I struggle with getting low and driving through. I'll be practicing these bag drills on my own to improve. Thanks!

We are in Rigby, Idaho, and our boys won the state championship last season with both our varsity and JV teams. This season, we just added more boys who want to play rugby for the first time. <br>This video will help us out so much. We coaches were talking yesterday after our practice with our girls coaches and we all agreed we needed one more drill on tackling and your video definitely helped us to add a lot more drills to add in our future practices. As a coach of under 12s. They’re all fine doing tackle drills of various kinds but as soon as match day comes they won’t tackle. It’s how to get over that “barrier”

Me myself I’ve lost confidence in tackling. Before I used to be a tackling masterclass at fullback but I broke my leg at 13 and now U15s is rolling around and I’m just worried to get in there like how I used to and I’m scared to hit at full speed. I seem to struggle at getting lower swiftly now I don’t know if that’s a physical limitation or a mental issue

our U13 boys struggle the most getting off the line at speed (fitness) and sorting their feet out before the tackle. Great video thanks Ben

Tackling is a tough one. My son like many would grab rather than get low and get his shoulder in, it improved slowly. An under jersey with shoulder pads and instructions to ensure the shoulder pad contacted the runner helped. Then this season U15 he came in worried about tackling, all summer the ground was too hard to do much contact and yet somehow this season he has turned into Dan Lydiate! Sometimes I guess it just takes time.
