I was at Hat Head on the Mid North Coast .
I was walking out onto the beach and I saw a brown snake making its way from the sand heading back towards the bushes.
There was a Girl about 6 that I could see was going to walk right into its path.
So I stopped stood still and pointed and yelled “snake” .
So everyone in the general area stopped and the snake made its way into the bushes.
The thing was though the girl and her family looked at me as if I’d just swore at them or something.
I thought if that was my kid I would’ve said thanks for that.
Very strange.

The ambulance is not an overreaction for a snake bite
I remember reading about a fatality in Qld many years ago where a man was bitten by an Eastern Brown. He told his neighbour he was fine and not to worry about calling the ambulance. He went home, collapsed and died. And another guy more recently who instead of calling an ambulance drove himself half an hour to hospital after an EB bite but didn't survive

They are such beautiful snakes. My house backed onto a rain forest in cairns so i seen a lot of scrub and carpet pythons and common and brown tree snakes..
I always put them in a pillow case wearing my welding gloves just in case, then take them back out to the rain forest near a creek, away from every ones fence lines with pet dogs and cats.

They get attracted to the geckos eating bugs on people decks and patios with lights.
I like the geckos and let them roam my house because they eat the spiders and my small fast dogs cant climb the wall to hurt them!

Even if the snake is non-venomous u need it looked at for infection allergic reactions broken-off teeth in the wound as well u. Should all way go to the hospital after a snake bite😊

Australia looks like a beautiful place, but I'd never be able to live there. Not sure what's worse, the gigantic spiders or venomous snakes coming into your house.
