Go QUADRAPHONIC! New video is here ↓
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzVA0J_3L-Q

Dear friends!
First of all, thank you for the comments. For all of it 🙂 Really cool. Whyneeel for everyone :)

This comment is for those who want to throw mud at me and passionately argue that everything is wrong and that horizontal movement = R + L, and vertical movement = R − L.

You’re right. And I’m right. Coordinates are relative. The stylus moves in space. If you rotate the coordinate system by 45 degrees, you’ll get exactly what I’m talking about. Both “walls” will be waveforms. One of them will simply be inverted (the axis is oriented in the opposite direction). But that’s just detail. The main point is that on one wall = the R channel, on the other = the L channel.

That doesn’t cancel the fact that, as you correctly pointed out, what gets recorded is the sum and the difference of the channels. But the reverse transformation gives you L and R back. In the stylus, in the turntable, in the phono preamp — there is NO ELECTRONICS ANYWHERE! What systems of equations are you even planning to solve, and with what? 🙂

It’s much simpler. Just add the vectors.
Peace! Love you ❤

This is how I image a non-enshitified web! Great content, no fluff, high-res images free to download. Awesome, man!

Sorry to break it to you but I’m pretty sure you are an audiophile. You love the sound and music you went to all this trouble to make a great video on vinyl, yeah you’re one of us. Welcome fellow sound lover.

What is even more mind-blowing to me is that it's not just one sound... but DOZENS all at the same time to playback an orchestra with timbre, transients and fidelity.... brain....BOOM!!!

This video uses a Japanese-made Audio-Technica cartridge and a NAGAOKA stylus. It's a tasteful choice.

I was a DJ and played vinyl at the radio station . The records were handled not very gently, and after playing several times they accumulated finger oil, scratches, and still sounded good due circuitry that expanded the signal , clipped it and then went through a inductance, capacitor that restored the waveform. Some amplifiers added this circuit to eliminate the clicks and scratches that occurred when using vinyl. The big drawback to vinyl is that most people don't have scratch filters ,so once a record gets a scratch it will always be there. The technical advantage to digital is it has a higher dynamic range then vinyl. HI FI recordings on vinyl just cannot give that experience of hearing music preformed live, neither does a cd, but it is closer to that live concert experience due to the ability to have a 30 db increase in dynamic range. There is another drawback to vinyl, the more it's played the high frequency begins to degrade due to the needle wearing done the groove. You would need a spectrum anylazer to see the difference over the time you played the recording. My dad would tape his albums and play the tapes to avoid frequency loss from repeadily play a record.

Note that the dual magnet arrangement in the phono cartridge is proprietary to Audio Technica. All other moving magnet/moving iron types use a single magnet.
