  As you said, it’s your first vw build. You’re not the greatest, made some mistakes, but over all good job. You shined as a commentator in describing what you were doing.

  About to turn 59 and retired . Always wanted a VW bug but Leary of how much tooling it might need. I’m not as knowledgeable or mechanically inclined but wanting to take the challenge and figure things out. This video motivates.

  I was pacing and almost fainted 6 times!!! ORINGS!!! Camplug backwards, …deflectors on barrels…PLUG, set and clear oil pump before case halves…. Distributor drive…and check pulley depth… Score bearings…Ring Gap and order….STRETCH PUSHROD TUBES!! ..(thud) … passed out…SILICONE Head studs….ORINGS ON ROCKERS!!!!…Ok calm down it’s ok…. I put a Porsche 64mm Roller crank in a 40hp block, fly cut the heads, 88 barrels, 1.4 rockers, web 130 cam and I beat half the V8 cars in a type3 SB, &nbsp;I cut the roof off of, so I was crazy, and I learned from doing, do it again kiddo!!!! The only sealant is Gasgacinch, never use a file on rings only stone, did you check the Relief plugs? Whenever going over 88 mm on pistons YOU MUST DO 8 dowel due to Harmonics…. Remember there’s studs and NOT BOLTS because of harmonics, I have been seeing my skool idiots saying I’m gonna use Allen heads on my whole engine…. GO LOOK Up on Samba what happens LMFAO especially at drag strip, your leaving oil, ALSO THE SIDE TO SIDE OF THE ROCKERS PREVENTS WEAR AND HEAT…. Unless you are using hydraulic lifters…… I’m not knocking you If you don’t know you learn. NOBODY LEARNS WITHOUT LOSS….

  Almost nobody out there makes a straight, all-in-one, live video of this entire process!!! &nbsp;You did quite well!!! &nbsp;Yes, sure, you might have made a couple of mistakes, but none that would stop me from pressing on!!! &nbsp;Explaining what you are doing is really great, and this was worth dozens of other videos where people don&apos;t do that!!!
