From a historical and restoration point of view, all these videos are a treasure trove of details you would never see in a museum, history book or sometimes even the manuals. I have a feeling, some restorer somewhere in the future will pull up these videos and be very thankful that all this information has been so freely shared.

Back in the 70s, I knew a guy who had worked with armor plating during WW2. When welding displaced riveting, they had planned to scrap the pre-drilled plates. He convinced them to give him a few plates, some time, and an assistant. After a few days, he had nailed down his parameters and how much to weld from each side so that the plates fell back into spec. He saved them thousands of plates. I was dating his daughter at the time, and his mischievous personality was a delight to learn from.

I always appreciate Daryls attention to details, even the cardboard he fitted to protect the floor is impressive!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks CAD stands for "Cardboard Aided Design."

I've been a mechanic on all kinds of machinery for 55 years, a welder/fabricator too. I've built firewood processors, maintained log skidders and excavators. Yet every episode I watch of the workshop guys, I learn something new. Thank you!

To bring up discussion from a month or two ago, the video length was perfect Kurt. We got lots of depth and details of the work, and moved on to other repairs right before it got boring. We enjoy watching craftsman at work, as well as how the original engineers decided to solve problems.

Considering that I'm watching this as I'm having my lunch here in Sweden - which I'm ever so grateful for! - means that Kurt uploaded this very late in the evening...
That's commitment!
We all love watching the lads restoring and putting old and mangled machines back together again! I can't work the spanner any more due to a spinal injury sadly but I still get my "repair and building sh*t" fix watching you guys down there, and albeit I'm so far away from you we still feel like we know you! ;)
Yet again, huge thanks for the work you're doing by saving and keeping alive all this history!

Suggestion: Set up a "beer & coffee donation" account where it's easy to donate something for you lads where we can collectively drop a few $£€ (or whatever currency we're using) so you can have a brew or a cold one on us! A way for us to give something back every now and then... You're worth it for sure!
