BIG fan of this one, honestly I would watch a lot of these boulder breakdowns! Good to see you working on the midset

Sometimes you just need to accept this problem is going to be uncomfortable. Especially true near your limit. And the fan really shows how small factors make the difference at your limit, even if it's just in you're head

I always need to remember to try all the moves on hard climbs! It’s so easy to get discouraged by a hard start or intro sequence, without realizing you might be able to do many of the moves. It doesn’t bother me to be stuck at the crux, but if I can’t do the start, it’s much easier to give up

Most of my projects take 6 months to complete, my longest lasted a straight year of falling on a singular move before I finished it. Don't give up even if the first session is impossible!

To send this with your biggest fan watching must have felt immense 😂

This is also why I really love having projects on boards! They stay there forever for you to implement them into your schedule over a long period of time. You never need to be scared of putting time into "too hard" boulders because the knowledge you have gained will never be not useful, since you can always come back to the boulder.

As someone who broke through the V5 plateau literally last week, (finally managed a V6 slab) I can confirm that if you never get onto harder grades, you won't get to those grades. You feel dumb trying over and over again a move you can't do, but as long as you move around and try different moves, even you never managed to link them, one day a climb will come where you go "Wait, I've done this move before on an even harder boulder, maybe?" and then you session project it out of nowhere. The key is to take boulders above your grade not as full climbs, but as individual cruxes. Even a single move on a climb 2 grades above you is a major win often times.

OMG that one hand on the final hold was such an awesome fight! Finally doing something that you first thought was impossible (despite multiple failures) will never not be rewarding. Weirdly enough I feel that failing on harder climbs but doing the hard move feels more satisfying now than sending something hard but not max effort on the first few goes. Feels like there is actual progression than stagnancy

It is fun to try hard moves on boulders you may think is above your level. If you try one spesific move true multiple sessions, it can go from feeling impossible, to not that bad. That is a great feeling

The realization that progression only comes from actually trying stuff that's a good bit above your level was an important one to me. My gym grades with numbers from 1 to 7, and starting to do that made me go from managing to send a 5 (V5-V6 / 6B+ - 6C+) every so often, to 5 becoming my flash grade and having some really good attempts on 7s (V8 / 7b+ and above). The alarming part was how quickly that progression happened too once I had that mindset shift.
