Little luxury: large silk scarf. I've used it as a fashion accessory, knotted it into sleeves, used as blanket, table cover, bindle, head covering, and skirt

I bring a jumbo ziploc (2 gallon) and laundry detergent sheets that can be cut down to size, plus don't count as liquids. I dissolve the detergent in the bag with water, then add clothes and agitate as much as I need to, take out clothes to switch for more if they all didn't fit the first "load", and rinse them all before hanging to dry. It sounds cumbersome, but after I tried it this way, I'll never travel without it. The entire laundry process is just a jumbo ziploc bag and a few detergent sheets, so it takes up minimal space in my travel bag. I prefer to wash directly in the ziploc because I don't know how clean the sink may be, or there might not be a working drain stopper, I don't want to risk damage to delicate clothing with rough sink, etc. Works like a charm and I can do as many loads as I have soap/water available.....and yes, in a pinch I've used bottled water and a bath soap bar - still works great!

Using flexible pouches for toiletries and makeup is such an underrated tip!! It takes up so much less space than the larger rigid containers most youtubers recommend. It's also easier to find what you're looking for once you get to your destination!

I add a brightly coloured cotton handkerchief. Can be a scarf, a headband, mop a spill, cover a sketchy train table etc. also I take sport insoles for my runners. Sometimes your feet need a break, and instead of different shoes, different insoles work. I do have a problem that my travel clothes mean that photos from every vacation Iβm wearing the same thing. Iβm replacing my silk sari kaftan that is my evening gown/beach coverup/nightgown this year only because it has been in all the photos for 10 years.

Watching this as someone who loves to pack efficiently but is chronically ill and likely wonβt ever actually travel just with a personal item due to medical needs, itβs really interesting and useful to see how these tips can still apply to me and how I can be more efficient about my like personal packing, so that having to bring extra medical items doesnβt completely expand what Iβm bringing
