  As a sunni, it is extremely clear to all Muslims now that the shia are most definitely NOT waiting for a saviour to act against the enemies of Allah. This take is hypocritical. I rarely see criticisms of Sunni leaders who are directly working with the enemy. Its baffling.

  This recent war is a clear example that the shia anticipation of Imam Mahdi (as) is absolutely not getting in the way of Iranians standing up to injustice in/against their nation, be it the military or the average person. &nbsp;<br><br>That&apos;s us. We the average western sunni laypersons believe that we can simply wait for Imam Mahdi to arrive and resolve all our problems. &nbsp;One must ask where the Iranians get this bravery and conviction from to fight western aggression at every level of their society. &nbsp;It&apos;s not from waiting for someone else to save them. &nbsp;I think (one factor) it comes from is the constant reflection and commemoration of the atrocities committed against the purified household of the prophet (saw) and the blessed house&apos;s unwavering stance on truth in the face of death. &nbsp;Something we always glaze over in our sunni mosques and centers of learning, even on the 10th of muharram. The same way some of us participate in mawlids to cultivate a deeper affection for our prophet (saw), the Shia focus on constantly remembering and reflecting on Karbala fosters not only profound love for the Ahlul Bayt but also a deep yearning for justice and serves as a call to action for the ummah on how to face and stand against tyranny. &nbsp;It&apos;s part of their daily rhetoric but barely part of the sunni framing. And we wonder why it&apos;s so hard to get our community to mobilize for just political causes. While the Iranian youth bravely stand guarding their bridges and power plants while knowing well the western disregard for human life.<br><br>Also im pretty sure khamenei is not considered infallible by the shia majority. &nbsp;Wilayat al-Faqih is different from what they consider to be the divine infallibility of the 12 imams.<br><br>I don&apos;t think we should be calling this series a deep dive. It&apos;s more like a high level sunni perspective. &nbsp;It&apos;s a reiteration of the existing narrative that continues the rift between our communities, not a sincere investigation with a desire to engage with the other side. If the difference in our ideology truly cannot be reconciled, why are we having this discussion? I hope it&apos;s to set the stage to discuss where we do agree and how we can unite as an ummah on those common points.

  The shia muslim state of Iran is standing up to the atrocities of Israel. I will pray for them as I would pray for any other Muslim. Look at all the sunni led states in the area and how many of them stay silent or have dealings with America and Israel. A wrongly guided Muslim is infinitely more likely of forgiveness and jannah than non muslims who do dhulm to everyone, including their own indirectly (see how many Jews are facing hatred and possible injustices because of Israel, even the jews who speak up for palestine).

  It&apos;s surprising to see tons and tons and tons of videos made on iran, their political structure, their beliefs, syria war etc etc. Instead of acknowledging and appreciating their sacrifices &nbsp;we try to find every way to belittle them.

  We were given Islam, yet we did not strive to follow it as it should be followed. At its core, Islam begins with honesty and sincere, pious intentions. True success should be measured by how a society treats and supports its hardworking citizens. In that regard, Dubai is far from a perfect example, as its rapid development has relied heavily on millions of low-wage workers from the Indian subcontinent, many of whom have faced poor hygiene, unhealthy working conditions, unpaid wages, and inadequate accommodation—the list goes on.
