  I used to rebuild very large electric motors. We had a varnish tank and soaked the stator in varnish overnight. Let it drain after removing and then into an oven to bake it on. That lasts until the net overhaul. It should work for waterproofing as well.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGhhfbPiIIc&amp;t=672">11:12</a> I am extremely impressed and surprised at how well the boat handles the rough water. <br>I have a spare 5kw E bike electric motor and controller package however the over all diameter of the motor is 280mm so not much good for having a submerged drive like you have. <br>I’m a firm believer in small diesel engines for marine craft due to its incredible reliability, fuel efficiency and general peace of mind. I’m trying to work out a way to build a boat like yours and have an inboard diesel engine, most likely a Yanmar L100V coupled to a reversing gearbox .<br><br>I think if I was to build a boat like this I would most likely add some additional length and width to it for added stability.<br><br>But, a very good effort you have achieved and I like the content.<br>Subscribed from Scotland UK 👌

  I threw a 2KW BLDC motor on an old Merc 3.3 I had. I bolted together some aluminum plate, 1/4&quot; (6mm), and coupled the motor to the shaft. I use it on my dinghy to get in and out to my moored boat. It pushes me at 5kts. After 1.5 seasons I&apos;m really happy with it. Your detail is far greater than mine. Much mor powerful. I waste a lot in pushing the gears and the water pump impeller that&apos;s just stirring the water. If I built a 5KW I&apos;d use the waterpump for cooling, but in the water is much mor efficient.

  keep original gear an propeller and mount the motor in de cowling.....that would be a perfect conversion ;)
