It’s a shame that chief is still just floating out in space and hasn’t been found by anybody.

It's Cute AF that they painted their phantoms green to symbolise their unity with humanity and the marines

The memorial scene was always very powerful to me. "I can't forgive you for what you did but you have my thanks." I can't imagine the emotions going through his head of standing next to the being who was responsible for Reach and who-knows how many other colonies he might've destroyed but also knowing how he also played a part in saving earth and humanity. What a time to live in the golden age of gaming with great depth and storytelling. I miss those days...

5:30 I love the small detail here when the wounded soldier is rushed by the group. Chief, Johnson and Miranda basically blow it off as quickly as it happens. But not Thel. Instead he fully turns around and watches them rush the wounded soldier off to the (suspected) field hospital. I like to think he does this because this is the side of the war he never saw. He’s witnessing for the first real time the damage the Covenant has done to humanity from a human perspective, where as for the other 3, it’s pretty much reality for them. Just another day in this seemingly never ending war.

Also, remember that Thel Vademe, before his fall from grace in Halo 2, was the commander of the fleet that glassed Reach. But even before that, he was responsible for the glassing of eight human colony worlds and the deaths of 1 billion+ humans. So it would make sense he’d be thinking to himself “I played a part in this. What have I done?”

“Then it is an even fight” is still the most alpha line in gaming history

The scene wher Sgt. Johnson took a couple of elite weapons while Thel Vadam took two heavy human weapons is quite a powerful scene. Truly epic.

“I am Truth! The voice of the Covenant!”
“And so, you must be silenced.”
Still the coolest villain death in any video game I’ve played.

when cortana says ‘i’ve got a friendly contact. who’d be crazy enough to come in here?’ and you get that little triangle floating on your screen before you see arby just standing there mowing down flood with the flamethrower. genuinely my favorite moment in any video game ever
