  I can't tell you how many times I heard the whole speech about how you should give 10% of your income, having faith that God will provide for your needs if you do. The Mormon church doesn't seem to have much faith that God will provide what's needed to run the church if they're hoarding billions of dollars. I also used to think that, at least if I were a member and all heck broke loose in the world, the church would make sure the members didn't starve. Which, I now see, is really messed up because all heck HAS broken loose and people all over the world are starving and suffering, and the Mormon corporation's coffers are locked up like Fort Knox.

  No. It’s a real estate development company. They hide their assets behind the shield of religion. They are in the gray area between state and religion and should be investigated for fraud.

  After my mom died, we found out she took out a reverse mortgage to be able to afford to pay her 10% plus support my sister and her deadbeat husband. Hearing about the amount of money in their portfolio, I cannot describe the disgust and rage I feel.

  One of the most sadly ironic things is the painting I see hanging in many LDS church foyers. The rich man asked by Jesus to give all to the poor.

  Kudos to the First Congregational church! &nbsp;My deepest admiration goes to these good people. &nbsp;Most nonMormon congregations in Utah and along the Morridor are stepping up to the plate and following the Savior in their efforts to make a difference in the lives of the poor, the struggling and the completely marginalized. &nbsp;Meanwhile, there are so many &nbsp;homeless, sick, struggling people practically on the doorstep of church headquarters in SLC. &nbsp;If they even gave only 5% of their surplus to the citizens of Utah and to REAL programs that help the least of us regardless of gender, sexual identity, marital status, educational level, etc throughout the world without any strings attached they would be become an organization and church that would be held in high esteem throughout the world. &nbsp;The original Mormon welfare system did just that back until the church became financially solvent back in the 60’s and 70’s. &nbsp;<br><br>They certainly have forgotten the Savior’s injunction to the wealthy young man who asked Jesus what he should do to gain eternal life, and Jesus told him to sell everything he had and give it to the poor. &nbsp;The scripture about the LOVE OF MONEY being the root of all evil definitely applies to the church. 😞😩😤🤬

  &quot;Like origami the problem is two fold.&quot; Love it!!<br><br>Speaking of folds, I remember, maybe two of three profits ago, when TSCC added &quot;help the poor and needy&quot; as a stipulated fourth fold mission of the church. Did that move ever get shoved deep down the Mormon memory hole.

  30 years later and I still feel bad for the lies I spread on my mission about how charitable the church is. Turns out it&apos;s the stingiest way to help the poor ever.
