  Honestly, an overwhelming majority of Estonians don't have a problem with ethnic Russians in Estonia as long as they follow the law and behave appropriately in a civilized society. These are the exact same expectations that Estonians have for fellow Estonians and any other ethnicity who wants to live in here. If they have taken the trouble to learn the language (it's not easy but not impossible) and apply for citizenship, i can guarantee most Estonians will have immense respect for you and your efforts.

  I'm dutch and I visited Estonia and especially Tallinn last week for a few days. It is for sure beautiful and I was positively surprised by the economic wealth I saw there. The people also look good and happy. Estonia is rocking!

  BTW I am Estonian russian... and sometimes I am bigger Estonia patriot, than some Estonians 😂 I was born here but I was a grey passport holder till the age of 15 when I obtained citizenship

  Also a lot of youth from Narva are leaving that town for Tallinn or Tartu (or Estonia altogether) and they are usually most progressive and know all languages. This is bad as those who are left in Narva are usually older people who are pro-russian.

  A good TV show about the 1917 war estonia faced against russian and germans is the estonian language drama series &quot;Tuulepealne maa&quot;. And then later the deportations.

  Here is an interesting fact many visitors are not aware of:<br><br>Actually de jure the other side with Ivangorod (ru.), is called Jaanilinn (est.) and it&apos;s still part of Estonia according to the Tartu Peace Treaty that Soviet Russia signed with Estonia in 1920. De facto it&apos;s still illegaly occupied by Russia because the occupation from 1940/1944 from the Hitler-Stalin pact was illegal by international rights and most countries never recognized it. In fact the Estonian government from 1918 still continued to exist in exile. So the Estonian Republic from 1991 is not a new state. It just regained its independence. It&apos;s by international law still the same state since 1918 throughout the whole soviet occuptation till today.<br><br>P.S. Same goes for the whole county of Petserimaa in south-east Estonia. It&apos;s still occupied by Russia today and the land of the Seto people is divided by it.
