  Friends treat me and talk to me so much better than my children do. When I walk away from a friend I feel happy, but when I walk away from my children I feel sad and down.

  I think adult children may feel the need to take out their guilt, anger, resentment, and unresolved issues on someone they can get away with doing it

  That happened to me. I got up, gathered my purse and coat, and left, went home. A few years later she completely broke off contact with me. I had tried to push back, but the distance continued. I felt I was walking on eggshells around her, just like how I felt with her dad, my ex. She has become his Flying Monkey. So now I choose not to have contact with her. I will always love her, but until she wants to work honestly on our relationship, I will go on with my life without her.
