  It always amazes me how many people will spend huge amounts of money on a big SUV so they can feel "safe" and get around in the winter, but then they cheap out on tires and are skidding all over the place.

  Back in the day I got some nice Blizzaks to put on my WRX . The Subaru dealer didn't want to put them on because of the lower speed rating. I told them not to worry because I never exceed 108 mph on the ice.

  I'm from Chicago. I keep 2 sets. One set of all weather and one set of strictly winter. It's amazing the difference some winter tires do in snow and ice.
