  I saw him in a pub near Wicklow. He looked at me and realised I'd clocked who he was, I winked and he smiled and nodded, and that was that.

  His Lincoln character is so encompassing that you believe that&apos;s exactly how Lincoln would be if you ever met him. Not just dialogue, but mannerisms<br>that include changing facial conditions that span multiples in the speed of a second or two. Kudos to whoever handled his outfits and make-up, for he<br>definitely brought forth an eerily astounding accuracy to what we know of Lincoln to look and be like. Extraordinary doesn&apos;t begin to describe him properly<br>but perhaps the word &apos;ultimate&apos; does.

  I wish his performance in Phantom Thread was more talked about as it is a masterclass in subtlety and elegance. He is the greatest.

  How good was Daniel Day-Lewis? Well, I don&apos;t remember ever seeing him in a movie, but I remember every character he played in great detail. That&apos;s how good.

  People love to say he&apos;s a little too much, too intense. His research leads to being in character all the time because the performance is like an emotional documentary. Nothing better than acting with that much responsibility to make someone walk out of the theatre different....happy to have paid for the experience. I would pay twice for most of his movies :)

  Mr. Lewis seems to understand who the character is and what they believed, and how those beliefs motivate the character. I always appreciate that.

  If you haven’t seen it “ my left foot” is without a doubt one of his best. Saw it back in the early 90’s and it’s something I’ll never forget. He is without a doubt the greatest actor of all time. 👍👍
