  10 minutes before closing is when it becomes a madhouse. &nbsp;That’s when the clerk comes out and puts 50% off stickers on the packages. 😂😂😂

  Lol, a lot of my regular days in Tokyo are just overloaded with supermarket food, and &quot;surviving&quot; makes it sound like I&apos;ve been living in poverty eating the worst possible food haha<br><br>EDIT: my original comment was before the title has changed and upgraded to &quot;AMAZING food&quot;.

  日本の安いスーパーマーケットの弁当は揚げ物が多いです。<br>値引きをする時刻は店によって違います。七時には値引きを始める店もあります。

  I just came back from Japan 3 days ago. I saw a Life market but had no idea what it was and we were doing something else. However, I stayed by a gourmet market in Yokohama that was really fabulous and a Fresco market was nearly across the street from us in Kyoto Minami near the To-ji station. On my first night of staying there , I grabbed saury sushimi and a tasty doriyaki for very little. I had the freshest kiwi fruit I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot of kiwi) from the same market. That was my breakfast with yogurt, a coffee and whatever pastry my husband bought in the morning.

  This is part of my travel itinerary in Japan to curb food cost. I specifically booked my hotel room next to an Aeon Supermarket. I heard they mark down prices at night so this is my dinner option for my trip!
