Where Did the Jem'Hadar Come From?

Something that's always been in my mind about the Vorta's origin story is that I don't necessarily think we're supposed to believe it. It's a story that feels almost mythological in its scale and simplicity, so it always felt to me like it's either a heavily adapted version of the truth, or completely fabricated.

One thing that’s important to remember with the story of how the Vorta came into the Founders service (but applies to a lot of this) is that this is the the story the Founders *tell the Vorta*.  We actually have no idea if it’s actually true, and indeed it sounds closer to myth than fact. It’s possible that it contains a kernel of truth, but we don’t actually know.

I had never made a connection between the drai/tosk and the jem'hadar before but I really, really like that connection. It makes so much sense. Especially when you factor in the ability to shroud. Really well spotted.

Salome Jens did a wonderful performance as the Female shapeshifter in DS9, the way she discreetly changed the tone of her voice too convey emotions and Authority behind that makeup takes talent. Jeffery Combs also did a great job as Weyoun  in DS9 when he got his teeth into the character he created it himself by building on top of the scripts he was given by the script writers

I always thought it was a cool hint/reference that the Jem&apos;Hadar are named after a rank in the British Indian sepoy army (jemadar) as a hint that the Jem&apos;Hadar are an army who serve a ruling class from a different race.

I personally really like the idea that the ancestors to the Jem&apos;Hadar and Vorta were among the species that persecuted the Changelings. When the Changelings became more advanced they conquered their former oppressors and genetically modified thee entire race into obedient servants and worshippers.

As someone from a galaxy far far away once said.<br><br>The more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.<br><br>The Dominion was doomed to fail... eventually. Control through fear only lasts so long.

Imagine a Jem&apos;hadar saying &quot;O Brien&quot; like their Tosk cousins.

There is a lot of wasted potential with the Dominion imo. Cast your mind back to their original mid season 2 introduction when Quark went to the Gamma Quadrant to open up trading relations with them. It was implied that the Dominion was this vast trading economy full of diverse species that had come together in a pseudo-Federation of sorts. The Jem&apos;Hadar were only sent for when you did not play their game. The Dominion from then onward however only seemed to deal with problems using violence and might as well have only been the Founders, Jem&apos;Hadar and the Vorta. There was so much more that you could have done with an anti-Federation than with what we got.

The Jem Hadar and Vorta were both likely genetically engineered from mostly animal to intelligent humanoid lifeforms. The Jem Hadar were &nbsp;reptiles like the lizard and the Vorta were like monkeys or Lemurs.

Maybe there was an interstellar empire that was a precursor to the Dominion 10,000 years ago, and they persecuted and even enslaved the changelings. &nbsp; In retaliation, the changelings revolted and overthrew their oppressors from within their own empire. &nbsp;Essentially, they kicked them out and turning the empire into the Dominion thereby becoming the oppressors.
