Despite the name of the video, the complete history of SeaWorld Orlando isn&apos;t so complete. If you want the full updated story, check out my video on its newest ride, Expedition Odyssey: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWa1jorwOZ0">https://youtu.be/KWa1jorwOZ0?si=BcFK9If59G1UHjnC</a>

The first red flag is that Orcas kept dying, and they kept getting more as opposed to leaving them in the ocean.

My gf worked at seaworld, and when you mentioned bad management, all she said was, &quot;Tell me about it&quot; 😂

When I visited Sea World as a kid in 1986 they had a Shamu there at the time. I don’t remember it that one was male or female, but in my native French, my mother always referred to Shamu as a “he”. It kind of shatters the magic to find out it was just a corporate name and Shamu was more of a product than it felt to me as a 6 year old back then.

I used to work in Seaworld for about a year in the mid 2010s. I loved being able to take a short break at one of the many aquariums. One of the employee parking lots is right next to mako so it was always funny stepping out of my car and just hearing screams in the distance. <br><br>The saddest thing I saw there was one of the walruses 24/7 doing the same circular movements in his tiny space. Repeated motions are a sign of animals in captivity being under heavy stress. His tusks were worn down from how many times he hit them on the rock wall 😢

Fun fact about seaworld san diego (my first job in 2013)- they had so many issues with employees gettin&apos; freaky with each other that underage employees wore red name tags and basically none of the black tags would talk to you until you turned 18 😅 i think that mightve been company wide but ours was the OG park and they told us that rule was specifically from the 80s era

The Atlantis ride was the first coaster ride I had ever been on as a kid, and the mermaid turning evil and the drop in the dark scared me so bad that I didn&apos;t go on another coaster ride for six years, but it is still one of the coolest looking rides I remember being on as a kid.

I work at SeaWorld San Antonio (the least talked about of all the parks, it seems) and I’ve got to say the main issue other than the absurd pricing is the high degree of employee turnover and poor training. Since the company tries to operate everyday with the smallest amount of employees possible, work days are often super busy and stressful, especially over the summer. That leads to a high degree of employee turnover, and to compensate, the company rushes through training to get new bodies to work ASAP. However, that means that employees are less prepared for the work, which only leads to more stress on their end and slower lines and worse service on the customer’s end. It doesn’t help that employees are often moved from location to location as needed, which only causes more stress and inefficiency as they have to quickly adapt to the new environment. I really do think the parks have the potential to be great even without marine mammal shows, but the company needs to invest in better training for employees and better experiences for guests instead of just raising the prices.

If I had a dollar for every time SeaWorld was subject to a hostile takeover by some other company, I&apos;d be a very rich man

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idbpQucRa9s&amp;t=2526">42:06</a>. I would die laughing. If I was on a dark ride with this theme and heard the Beetlejuice theme, my brain would just break. What an interesting choice. It really should have had a completely original score.
