It somehow surpassed Eternal, in my book. Revelations is just peak Doom, the addition of a sidearm melee attack in the spear and main three melee weapons is so good. Makes me wish that when replaying Eternal the wristblade worked the same way.

Men, women, children, senior citizens, as well as pets (with or without fur) will see this and just go "hell yeah".

This game is almost TOO good.

Base game dark ages was already amazing, revelations just made the game even better.

Bit of a hot take: I actually wish they didn’t bring back the dash mechanic from eternal. I really liked the classic feel Dark Ages had, imo it didn’t need a dash.

I haven't played TDA at all (bc I don't have a good pc) but I can tell why it's the best IMO because Doom games in general (not including Doom 3 based on my experience) lets the players go bananas with the gun fight and TDA and TDA Revelations gave the players melee weapons for an added Hack and Slash gameplay experience. No stealth, just you playing as an unstoppable force of the universe rampaging through heaven, earth, and hell.

I really recommend you to try playing with 50% damage to demons while having 'keep melee charges' with individual keybinds. This forces you to use all of your tools to quickly dispatch the demons and makes combos like Mace > Gauntlet x3 possible and its so fun comboing demons with shiled, spear, fists and mace at the same time in one string. Whole another level of fun.
