July 2002 I was in Niketown in Manhattan. I’m looking at the Air Force One Sheed edition and a guy walks up to me and says “those look nice!”<br><br>I turn around, it’s Gary Sheffield with his wife. I said what’s up, gave him a hug and a handshake. Dude was built like a rock.

Gary Sheffield had the most violent swing in baseball history. He swung the bat like the pitcher called his mother...something unsavory. He swung the bat like the pitcher owed him money.

Watched Sheffield when he was with the Tigers. He do nothing for four or five games then explode for one, keeping his stats up.
