The “amazon sound effect” in Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder was also used as the sound effect for the amazon character in Capcom: Quiz & Dragons.

Also there's an old PC game called Severance: Blade of Darkness, not related to Golden Axe at all but when you boot it up and the character selection screen appears, you'd be forgiven if you thought it was a Golden Axe game. Look it up, it's a great game, considered to be the original Dark Souls since the gameplay is not a walk in the park. To me it feels like a spiritual successor to Golden Axe.

The graphics of Golden Axe III are a downgrade compared to Golden Axe II, even the character animations are low tier, I wonder what happened.
