Samsung HW-Q990H vs Q990F: Same Soundbar, Higher Price?

  I had the 990B, 2 990C’s, 990D and 2 990F’s. The D replaced the B, and 2 F’s replaced the 2 C’s, for me the F is a step up on both the B and C and a slight step up (cleaner lower bass) on the D. The latest firmware did make the F’s bass hit better and sub placement near corner to amplify bass in my house and master bedroom. My Q990D is in my upstairs living room and is also in a corner with great acoustics to amplify the bass and the D has more rumble than the F, but the F fills my downstairs living room and bedroom better. Overall very happy with the F. Just make sure you tune it on the smart things app. My Q990D and 2 Q990F’s will be my setup till Samsung releases a true dual subwoofer soundbar.

  I had the Q990F until I started having sound dropping issues after the May Software update.  I tried several fixes over the phone with a Samsung Technician and they had me ship it to their repair center to do a warranty repair.  I received it back a week later with the front display not working and after another round with Samsung' support, they had me ship it back to their repair center.  They decided to  replace the unit by issuing me a voucher to purchase a replacement Q990F free of charge from their website.  I am a bit leery getting another Q990F based on my research and reading that others have had the same problem after the May 2026 software update.  So I am considering the Q990H hoping to have a better experience.  Honestly, I was quite happy with the Q990F prior to the software update issue.

  I bought the Q990F for €580 new a few months ago. That’s a bargain. Very happy with it! 🎉

  In Europe you can have the q990f for about 800 EUR (if you look around, and ask shops for their best prices). So a no brainer here. I'm happy with my purchase.

  Same Produkt for 6 (?) years. Only Subwoofer changed last year, which doesn't matter and changed nothing. Why Re-Release every year with new name?

  When testing these systems, you are using Samsung’s default settings. But one important thing should be noted: once EQ adjustments are applied, the Q990F and Q990D sound far more different from each other than your tests suggest. After hearing both personally with proper tuning, I realized that relying only on scoring systems is not the right way to choose an audio system. 🙂

  I heard some people wanting tw subwoofers with Samsung q990f and generations after. I see other companies coming out with their newer system soundbars joining and supporting dual subwoofers like ultimea, Sony, also some adding to their newest models 4 surround satellite speakers as well like LG and ultimea, &nbsp;hey even the sonos arc ultra soundbar supports dual subwoofers along with the older bose smart ultra soundbar. And not to mention the klipsch flexus core soundbars can support up to three subwoofers 2 wireless and 1 wired subwoofer of your choice. &nbsp;But samsung is if it isn&apos;t broke don&apos;t fix it with the quality it performs<br>But note that a second subwoofer does not mean double more bass 2 subwoofers is designed to fill in dead areas in your room space that don&apos;t have sound filling those &nbsp;areas in that specific place of the &nbsp;room thats all. Same old same old atleast Lg its competitor being a Appliance first company has tried something different and inevative

  Got the f last year, on Black Friday. It is amazing. Considering this is basically the same.. get the old one for about half the price or less than this years model.

  So this could have been just a software update instead of new product. But company shareholders would disagree.
