I love those 7x5 LED matrix displays

when I got started with Arduinos in 2010 or so, I had a project in mind using that kind of display, and bought a couple off ebay. didn't look too closely and it turned out to be a parallel-interface kind there were no libraries for... so I took the datasheet and painstakingly made my own. was SO satisfying when I got far enough I could successfully trigger the test pattern!

I love building power supplies, and this one is an absolute beast! In my opinion, this is the best power supply project on YouTube.

14:08 I recommend adding ESD protection as described in the "Filtering and Input Considerations" section on page 14 of the INA226 datasheet. Your video gave me some ideas. Thank you.

A serial port for control & perhaps reporting would be very nice.

Excellent project; well done. Might be worth investigating how to reduce IQ for the unit; 5mA is a bit on the high side. I built a replacement CPU for a 1W flashlamp using an ATmega328P and got IQ to 120nA. The push button caused an interrupt that caused the CPU to wake up. My perception for a target sleeping current for a unit like yours is around 5uA. Keep up the good work. Mark, New Zealand.

Awesome project! I really like the aesthetic of this thing. However, there is one major safety concern with your design. When using a multi-series battery pack, you should always have a cell balancing circuit. Over time, the voltages of the battery cells can drift apart, which can lead to overcharging of the battery cells. This is a huge safety concern since overcharging could lead to thermal runaway. This is why it is always recommended to use a BMS with cell balancing, or have a charger that supports cell balancing.

It probably needs some refinement in terms of the electronics but that LED matrix display does look cool, and the case. Kudos for open-sourcing it.

I don't know why, but the power bank powering the sliding motor it was sitting on made me laugh.
