  The converse situation really shows us that we are at an age where we push for freedom of speech originality etc but at the same time you gotta measure every single word and actions or else someone will take them out of context and paint you as the worst human being in history

  The world doesn&apos;t revolve around the US. The converse ad was intended for a global audience and released in asian markets first. The campaign was shot in South Korea.<br><br>Should it of prolly met a US review before being released? Yes. But to claim intentionality is delusional.

  Does anyone see a correlation between the Sweeney American Eagle ad and the Brooke Shields Calvin Klein jeans ad? It was 1980 featuring a 15 year old Brooke. “Nothing comes between me and my Calvins.” And it was pulled 24 hours later. Sales skyrocketed. Apparently American Eagle had their Calvin Klein moment.

  I first saw the converse ad from one of my favorite Youtubers, Antonio Talks/Speaks and I honestly think his observation was pretty spot on. I also think that the timing of the ad was completely asinine by the company with all of the recent attacks that have been made against the Black community. &nbsp;And with Sydney...she knows better and knew exactly what she was signing up for.
