Funny enough Fred Durst said himself that he was bullied at School, and that Fred Dust also said that some of those type of bullies that would’ve bullied him now listen to his music, which Fred said he found funny.<br><br>I think people don’t realise that Fred’s dude bro frat boy image was just a character, it wasn’t who he really was.<br><br>But a lot of bands rejected the Nu-Metal term, except for Fred Durst, and Dez from Coal Chamber.<br><br>Fred and Dez were the only two that liked the term Nu-Metal.

As a huge Linkin Park fan, I actually love your critiques of the initial sound. The polish and swear-less packaging would feel sell-out or plant-ish in that day. But as an angsty kid, it worked perfectly for me. Now, I love them even more thanks to the unfortunate reality of how real those lyrics were from Chester. And like you said, those tracks are also just hella catchy.

One thing that many people missed out on when talking about Linkin Park is Mike Shinoda because Linkin Park has two frontmen instead of one. Mike Shinoda is a regular dude with an art degree, and probably the reason why Linkin Park didn't sound as raw as Korn or Deftones.

I feel like the reason why slipknot sticks out more than other bands is because its way more angry yet gives the teenager vibes,so i think nu metal was the teenager vibe of metal and slipknot just presents teenager anger
