  As a pediatric COTA, PLEEEEAASSSE don’t stop talking to the nonverbal kiddos 🥺 just because they aren’t vocal, doesn’t mean they aren’t thinking or listening. They LOVE interaction (when they trust you) just don’t force it, speak to them like you would any small child who may be shy upon meeting. Be respectful, cautious, calm, patient, show them toys or books and talk about their day. They will open up 🥹🫶🏼

  S8; OP needs to walk away... can&apos;t go against his family without him, and OP doesn’t have him. He can&apos;t even choose OP when it comes to their wedding - he&apos;s never, ever, going to. Ever.

  S6; Liars shouldn&apos;t tell lies if they don&apos;t want to humiliated when their lies are exposed... and its never a good idea to leave the liar with any room to keep a toe in. They can have their feelings/ego hurt all they want, but enabling their petty BS lies isn&apos;t the smart/right choice for anyone... hubby calling her tackless? Heck. No. Yes! That was the time and place. Correcting his mummy-dearest in private is only a reward for her telling lies in private.

  S4; OP&apos;s husband uses grey rock to manage his reactions to his family, but that stopped being the correct choice once he married and now that they&apos;re having a child... if he won&apos;t protect his wife and child from his family, then he doesn’t have anyone to blame when his wife and child seek protection elsewhere and leave him behind... without him, his family is a less frequent issue.

  S3; OP needs to call her MiL&apos;s bluff and make sure that her husband and the entire family why that MiL isn&apos;t getting passed the front door anymore! MiL is playing games, she wants to stay the main character, best to disengage while she&apos;s 100% to blame for it.

  I have a child with Selective Mutism like Keon had. She’s about 95% in remission now. <br>We had to wait to treat the SM bc she needed heart surgery (we couldn’t trial meds while dealing with her heart) but she ended up overcoming the majority of it because of our teens friends. <br>We just explained what she has and to talk to her but not expect a response. They were SO good with her! They talked to her and included her in things and I know it was because of those teenagers that she started to overcome it. <br>It’s SO important to treat kids with disabilities like you treat everyone else. In some cases it becomes part of their healing.

  S1: my ex and I had issues because of his mom too. They had a joint checking account, so anytime he bought anything she questioned him. We were both over 30 and would occasionally get a bottle of booze, she would immediately message why are you at the liquor store. <br>He kept coming up with reasons to keep the joint account, keep his stuff at her house ect. It was definitely a big problem.

  S7; It&apos;s not complicated. Say no, and don&apos;t show up if she hosts the event anyway... just keep saying no, its a complete sentence. Her husband needs to pick up the ball he dropped, if he has managed his mother before, then he can do it now!
