The bad friend online. It doesnt sound like fishing it sounds like friend might be on spectrum and dealing with unrealistic expectations or some imposter type feeling. Personally, I would probably be that scrooge neighbor. And the dog thing could be how small dogs are territorial and can be snippy. If the kid got bit, it would have opened a whole new can of emotionally draining worms.

How do you guys not see the writing on the wall? Cassie was clearly cheating on OP with with his friend before they broke up but she was too cowardly to be open with him about ending things, so instead she fabricated this whole "I actually don't want kids" BS to make him break up with her. You don't jump into a new relationship with the BFF of the person you <i>just</i> broke off a long term relationship with unless they're already lined up and you're interested. Which is so gross.
