Big advantage of a washer dryer is also for anyone on an EV/E7 overnight tariff. I can set the washer dryer to start washing at 0300 and finish approx. 0700 and it means the energy cost is 6.7p per kWh instead of 25p prr kWh. Thats potentially a saving of £2+ on each full cycle!!

You didn’t mention the most important point - heat pump, which reduces the heat temperature at the same efficiency level. It helps to safe fabrics from damaging and shrinking. Only 1% of washer dryers are equipped with the heat pump. That’s the biggest disadvantage of washer dryers

I thought long and hard before buying a washer drier when my drier broke down. I live in a small apartment and therefore haven’t really got the space. I love my washer drier but because I am so use to hanging my clothes on a clothes airer when wet I only use the drier occasionally to dry my towels or bed linen. This stops condensation mounting up having big items hanging around my home waiting to dry.
