  I met Elder McConkie at a stake conference before my mission to the Michigan Lansing Mission.  I got his autograph and a month later I was in the MTC.  Not quite a year after I got to Michigan Elder McConkie came to reorganize the Midland Michigan stake presidency.  We invited an investigator to come with us to the meeting.  We had been working with this man for awhile, but there was something that kept him from committing.  He came with us and met Elder McConkie and listened to his message, listened to his testimony.  On the way home he kept going over the message and then he was quiet for a while,  He then spoke up and said "when can I be baptized?" He was baptized and stayed active in the church.  He even went on to be an ordinance worker in the Temple.  The power of an Apostolic testimony.

  Bruce R. McConkie always spoke direct and clear and never minced words. He knew. I'm so grateful for the missionaries who knocked on my door when I was 8 years old. I was baptized but it wasn't until I was 17 years old that I was really born again and converted. That was 45 years ago and my testimony of of the truthfulness of this work keeps getting stronger and stronger.

  I love this talk by Elder Bruce R. McConkey in 1979!!!!  This was before I joined the church in 1993!!!  I was 45 when I joined the church and I’m now 76, almost 77!!!!  So happy that I found the gospel in Alaska!!!  And join the church there, and got my Temple endowments there, at the new Anchorage Temple, the second person I think it was to receive their endowments there!!!!  And having met my future husband before I got my endowments at an older singles camp out!!!  And then he and I were sealed to each other, and my two boys, 15 years later, after we were married!!!!  (He had been sealed twice before in the temple to two different sisters… that’s OK, because I needed to gain a testimony of the temple…).  I love Bruce R. McConkey!!!!  I hope I spelled his last name right!!!!??!!  Thank you to any and all!!!  Love, Sister Gay Michaelis, and family(my husband passed away over a year and a half ago and is on the other side of the veil now, probably doing missionary work with his dad!!??!!) ❤️👏🙏😇🤗✝️✡️👌😊

  These are not &quot;deep doctrines&quot; but are actually foundational things that we need to understand in order understand the Gospel properly.<br>We are SO blessed to know these things, and to have such clarity of doctrine!

  He speaks in a clear and unambiguous manner that provided more substantial and clear information in 12 minutes than most religions provide to their followers in an entire lifetime.

  I was filled with the Spirit which testified to me, again, of the truth of Elder McConkie&apos;s words. What a glorious message of hope and promise! How blessed we are to have this inspired Plan of Happiness as shared in our scriptures, by the voice of the Lord&apos;s prophets, and the whisperings of the Spirit. Thank you for posting!
