  Love that you reviewed the clear purple version! So many only have the black or the rainbow and I&apos;m waiting for my batch 4 clear purple Pro.<br><br>This thing is beautiful!!!

  Just in case people dont know, you can set the controls to always control the top screen and use your finger for bottom screen always. That way you can scroll and still be in control of the game without having to tap back and forth.

  Surprised no one has pointed this out yet ... Due to the sides being exposed when you close it, you can actually hit the joystick buttons with the top screen while the device is closed. Just one of those things that make me nervous, however in terms of quality, performance, and visual appeal the clamshell wars have a definitive winner (at least as of now). Additionally, AYNs support of this thing in terms of updates/patches and replacements has been spot on, giving me a lot of faith in their company (even though I&apos;m new to their fanbase). Im assuming due to tariffs etc, my device arrived mad late cuz im a filthy American. When I first got my Thor I immediately had some minor gripes and thought of solutions, but the newest patch surprisingly resolved most of these. For example, the power button located at the bottom used to wake the system up if it was in your pocket. Not only did they resolve this by disabling that button while closed, they added an additional button to wake the Thor up via the AYN button. Its those clever QOL enhancements that make it obvious they care about the device as much as you do. Im sure in a future patch they will probably fix that charging issue as they have with the power button. Ive noticed a similar issue when receiving notifications particularly through discord as well. 3rd party app notifications wake the system up even when its closed, however if you aren&apos;t running a game it will go back to sleep briefly. Overall, Im extremely happy with this thing. I grew up with almost all the NDS&apos;s, and I initially intended only to use this (I bought the 8gb base model) for few android titles, DS, and 3DS emulation. However, after seeing the power output here along with the stupid levels of quality parts, Im using it for nearly everything just like my steam deck. Although almost every android game runs flawlessly, Zenless crashes on startup for me at this point.<br><br>TLDR: Its GREAT, like unbelievably over the top, but the side gaps when you close it are concerning. The company seems really invested though, so maybe they designed it like this on purpose and its actually more durable than initially perceived. Only time will tell. Theres also some niche cases where it turns on when it closes, but it seems AYN knows about these and is actively working on fixing em. 9.5/10 device if u ask me.

  I want to praise Zu for addressing the hinge, flexing while shut, and overall durability issues in a very matter of fact sort of way. &nbsp;That is something that has been bothering me a bit ever since these got into people&apos;s hands and I first became aware of them. &nbsp;I can buy just about any handheld once, it&apos;s just that I expect to get a few years out of whatever toy I buy, so I get all weird when trying to make a good decision.<br><br>This review didn&apos;t do a whole lot to put those fears to bed. &nbsp;That&apos;s because nobody can tell, only time. &nbsp;Thanks, Enya... &nbsp;At least I now know that I&apos;m not all alone out here. &nbsp;Thanks, Zu! &nbsp; <br><br>PS: &nbsp;Instead of separate clip-on grips, could JC Printing print an entire replacement shell or backplate for a handheld with the &quot;butt-doots&quot; entirely integrated? &nbsp;For handhelds with limited color options this would be a good way to get Buckeye Red or Wildcat Blue. &nbsp; <br><br>PPS: &nbsp;Am I &quot;Kyle&quot;? &nbsp;Oh, dear...

  My choice was buying 2 of the Thor for my hubby and me or 2 Steam Decks - I went with the Steam Decks since we both have modded New 3DS XL s and modded DSi XLs. Dunno if we made the right choice BUT we didn&apos;t have a great way to play Steam games handheld so - Decks and they were on sale.

  the right side hinge really only provides a pathway for the display cable and some stabilization. it&apos;d be highly unlikely that it would fail under normal use. the mechanical hinge is on the left side; any potential failure would happen in and around the area where the metal hinge is bonded to the plastic casing.
