  If he hadn’t broke the golden rule of investing ( diversification) &nbsp;none of this mess would have happened. If more people around him knew he was putting it all into one basket, I’m sure somebody would have persuaded him to lessen the amount he put into Anglo. <br><br>One good thing is that a lot of people in that area are still employed in good jobs in the factories and plants.

  I agree with most of what you say, im from south east of country, I have no affilition to sean Quinn or the family, my company was insured by quinn insurance, I had first hand experience of how they operated. an employee of mine had a minor work accident. H fell and broke three ribs. Long story short Quinns representative luaused through myself and a settlement was reached for 11k. This was paid 12 days as full and final settlement from the day of the accident. Quinns guy told me that they settle approx 50% of their claims fast and efficiently like this . The regulators figures on the requirement of cash for claims was based on the global insurance business model. My solicitor told me this case would probably rake 2/3 years with other competitors and the compensation would be 20 to 25 k plus the same on costs.Quinns cost were approx 1k plus the payout 11k. they settled for total 12 k all competitors pay up to 50k.<br>basically Quinns model meant that approx value of 550million claims they would settle for approx 150million. So based on their business model I believe instead of being under indemnified by 150 million they were in my opinion over indemnified by approx 350million. I can make this comment based on my experience working with them on claims. So I think your comments insinuating that Quinn insurance was actually not realising profits of 200million per year are based on media and the regulator who didn&apos;t assess the Quinn situation based on their business model. <br>yes Sean Quinn took a crazy unforgivable gamble, but I believe if supported the empire could havdctraded hhrough and not be a burden on all of us and our kids. sometimes a calculation is required as to what is the greater of two evils. I believe 10 years they could gave fixed things if supported and I wouldn&apos;t be paying for it now<br>Michael

  Ive watched the lastest &quot;Quinn&quot; saga from Sammy TV ...again fully controlled !!. There is no question or doubting the success of this man .Unfortunately one thing we all need to &apos;Learn &apos; in our lives is &quot;Contemptment &quot; .Once we learn that then nothing is more important . Remember we come into this wotld with Nothing and we will leve with Nothing . 😊

  his lack of empathy regarding the attack on Lunney was shocking, and was his comment that only Lunney knows why he was attacked seemed like victim shaming and also maybe an admission. Also i&apos;ve met the priest in Ballyconnell he did a funeral for a close family member of mine and he is an honourable man.

  It&apos;s like someone going to a casino for many years, playing and winning at a skilled game like poker..then when things get bad you go to the blackjack table and lump it all on red..this is a dangerous man

  Watched the whole thing and recommended to many others. Totally agree with your views on Quinn and how you summed him up. One thing I don&apos;t accept is the narrative the Quinn is to blame for the recession, the USC and the ironically named Quincy levy. Correct me if I&apos;m wrong but were there not other insurance companies underfinanced, Satanta and the like. Also there are so many more gamblers, involved in the story, ie the Maple 10 and financial regulator not at the races etc. Looking forward to the documentary about these lads.

  I like Sean Quinn. Yes he messed up with the CFD’s but how can somebody with so much experience &amp; savvy go so wrong ? I’d have to question both his advisors &amp; the financial regulator at the time. Yes, we have the 2% levy until 2037 but let’s not forget people of my age couldn’t get insurance except from QD. He messed up he knows it. The Lunny thing is another story.

  Terry there is a old saying “if you own a gun you can rob a bank, but if you own a bank you can rob everyone”. Quinn wanted his own bank. Nothing only greed tbh
