Calling it now before watching the video: "The Brothers Karamazov" is on this list.

The Count of Monte Cristo: 1200 pages have never gone by so fast. The narrative is formatted in a way that feels surprisingly modern: each chapter ends with a cliffhanger that makes you want to start reading the next, like Netflix autoplay. You will be hooked and unable to put this book down.

I'm currently reading Crime and Punishment and I really did not expect for it to be so readable. Somehow I was made to feel intimidated by it, but it's been a walk in the park and really engaging.

I'd be interested in the opposite of this list as well. Niche and not-that-well-known books that are difficult to read but are totally worth it in the end. You're clearly an extremely well-read person so I'd love to know the stories/philosophy books that you've enjoyed that the rest of us might never have heard of / be scared to pick up.

One of my favorite classics is “Candide” by Voltaire. It was written as a satire against Liebnitz’s and his philosophy, thoug you don’t have to know anything about him. It’s essentially a satire against toxic positivity and it’s hilarious.
