Drukhari are my favorite xenos, and it is poetic for how much I suffer because GW doesn't give us new models, they only take ours away. Also, Tau are not good, they still commit genocide and eugenics through sterilization instead of violence.

Interestingly, their main origin for their inspiration is fairly obscure and are the K'nyanians from H.P. Lovecraft's, "The Mound".

"The K'nyanians had attained immortality and subjugated other races before them, had the technology to biologically modify vanquished races and other life-forms and reanimate the dead for use as slaves, and could dematerialize and rematerialize at will. The underground people also engaged in sadism, depraved practices, ritualistic orgies, and unspeakable horrors such as random body modifications and mutilations of other slave species as entertainment, in order to gratify their time-dulled senses. The K'nyanians would develop a very advanced civilization but eventually regressed somewhat after finding no further use for technological advancement, returning to using their vast mental powers and beasts of burden for labor."

They also lived in a hidden city and would allow themselves to grow old just to experience it, and then de-age.

Another point against the Dark Eldar: Games Workshop has inconsistent support for them. Sometimes they will go through an entire edition using last edition's rulebook. Some of their models will disappear and leave customers hanging on when they'll get new versions. And some of the Dark Eldar models haven't been updated in ten years, whereas the space marines keep getting new models constantly.

They do get good lore though. Dark Eldar-centric books are consistently better than other Eldar books.

If you want to see something interesting that happened to a Dark Eldar, I recommend this video: How the Space Sharks Mentally Broke a Dark Eldar - Warhammer 40k

Pancreas has a video on nagaroth, the dark elf city in warhammer fantasy, and they are about as cruel as the drukhari

15:02 by default no in the modern game that is no longer an option because it just kept breaking things. There are some armies which do have Ally systems in them to intermingle most notably the Imperium with the agents of the Imperium but for the most part this kind of mixing is very heavily discouraged with the current rules. I don't blame GW for that because it has had a historical record of just breaking the game open in ways that make zero cents for example demons and grey knights who are the grey knights are supposed to be murdering the demons that's literally their job together as allies was a very strong strategy.
