Do you believe Scientology is a cult or just a peaceful organization?

Difference between a cult and a religion is.... You cannot leave a cult without your life or your families lives being threatened.

Hubbard was literally a science fiction story writer. He literally made all of this up and people take it as truth?! I’m dumbfounded.

I work directly across the street from a huge Scientology church and there are some strange things that go on. A couple of the odd things is that when delivering food, we are not allowed past the front desk and we aren’t allowed to call the person whom ordered. They have to do that for us. Another weird thing is that there are people there, doing things 24 hours a day. I sometimes leave work at 2am-3am and there are always people walking around and going in and out of the building. One more thing is that every one of them have the exact same credit/debit card from the same bank. And this isn’t really that weird but it’s more something that is annoying and that is they ALWAYS act like they are in a big hurry. We aren’t a fast food restaurant and even though we tell them this and that food takes at least 20-30 min to cook. They still bug us over and over until their food is done. Why are they always in such a hurry???  They are supposed to be “volunteering” at their church and the last I checked you don’t have to clock in and out for lunch breaks at church. Oh and when they are trying to recruit us, they do not like when we questioned anything they said. As soon as one of us try to get more info about something, they do this creepy smile and just say “ok” and leave.  Seriously, they all react the exact same way.  The inside of the church is a little different than a typical church.

My father is a scientologist, has been since the age of 18. He is now 64. I was close to my father until the age of 9. He ended up meeting his wife, who is also a scientologist. His wife pushed so hard to make me as a "SP". He believed her and slowly stopped being a part of my life. I am married now with 5 children, and he has no knowledge of my life or his grandchildren. I had been through a lot during the time I was around my father, but that's another story... all I know is that scientology breaks families apart.

Please be careful Annie, because other True Crime Channels have covered this Church, and they were threatened 😞 I’m glad you’re shining a spotlight on this horrific Church, but your safety is very important to us ❤

I recall when I first moved to Atlanta, I checked out Scientology because I didn't know what it was.  The woman who interviewed me hypnotized me.  I thought it was crazy; however, when she woke me up I actually felt violated.  She emphasized that I should give them money since it would save my job.  I quickly learned this was a fly-by-night scam organization.  Now, hearing that L. Ron embellished his military service -- what I call stolen valor.  That's just one more reason to reject this gigantic scamming organization that ruins people's lives.  This man was truly a nut-case, but it sickens me that a nut like this could influence so many prominent people.  What a shame!

You have to admire the fact that he has sold so many people this BS ... It baffles me that so many educated people fall for this totally craziness

So many European countries have not recognized Scientology as a religion, I wish the US would do the same.

Anything that rips families apart is utterly evil

The fact you were able to tell Scientologist beliefs without laughing or saying “what the fu…” is rather impressive.

As an Ex-Scientologist your presentation was brilliant. I was on staff in South Africa for a few years in the late 1980's. My mom was OT6 and my stepdad OT8. They were never staff. Both my parents have passed since, but thank the gods their eyes opened and they left and were both declared before that. Being a puplic member, normal staff member or Sea Org Member really makes a difference to your exposure. The are not and will never be a religion. It is only to get the tax exemption. The disconnect policy is very real and painful. With their passing, about a year apart, we had to hold 2 services for each, as the friends still in Scientology weren't allowed to attend, with threat of severe consequences, to attend with ex members. They were also not permitted to visit either of them on their death beds. My dad also, as far as I'm concerned, died prematurely due to prostate cancer, because the believe in conventional medical treatment is frowned upon. You are also told that everything that happens to you is your own fault, and that includes any and all illnesses, and the only way to fix it is through more and more auditing. They both died basically penny less after giving the church most all their money. It is a very distructive cult indeed. My anger and disgust for these people run deep. I suffer from mayor depression and anxiety and was never permitted to get counciling or medication. In my family and "adopted" family of Ex-Scientologist and active members, 6 passed away in just over 2 years from cancer.
