Crazy thing is he said he never had confidence or thought he was good enough. The imprint on a kid at a young age making them feel worthless can stick forever. He has a great interview with Rio Ferdinand

15:25 Rooney rescuing "the boy, who is now 29 years old". That sums up this sad story.

I know Ravel Morrison personally we went to the same school.
I know this could expose him but I spoke to him a couple of months ago, he was back in England pretending to be injured and said “I don’t care as long as I’m getting the bag”
It’s not that he couldn’t handle pressure, he chose an easy life in football and was blessed with the talent to be able to do it.

As with most of these stories, what really put the nail in this guy’s career was the people he chose to surround himself with, those same people recognised that this guy was broken and they just sucked the life out of him….. I remember seeing him a few times outside of the game while he was at West Ham and you knew instantly why he was having the problems he was….. when he played to his potential he was like fire and nothing could stop him…. Such a shame and I hope he can find his way out of the abyss he was dragged into by his so called friends and some of his family ….. I will always remember him for that goal against the spuds ⚒

That's so sad, man. He never had consistent support, and he really needed it. He's neuro-divergent, not lazy. He's living through trauma, he's not selfish. Like, nobody ever really showed him how to look after his health, and rotten teeth are the scars of child neglect. I bet one day you'll see him turn things around and be the positive influence on young players that he never had himself.

I am a Lazio fan and I remember when Ravel Morrison came in Italy. His mind has ever been in a bad place, the team expected a player and found a boy in need of an help. A match definitively made in hell. I feel sorry for him.
