I guess Redford was so tipsy he thought he was Paul Newman.

Edith Head's last movie that she designed costumes for was "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" (1982) with Steve Martin. It says so right there in the opening credits.

The Sting was my father's favorite movie. He laughed hysterically every time he saw it on TV. Now, it is my favorite. Thank you everyone involved!!!

Weird fact …. Paul Newman was Gondorf …. He played poker. Redford was Hooker … you made the mistake twice . A simple error like this that you didn’t fix means none of the facts that you have in any of your other videos, including this can be trusted. This was simple. This was like saying that Lou Gehrig had the most amount of Home runs rather than Babe Ruth. This was a big big miss … wow

I was about 9 when I saw The Sting at the local last run theatre. I still get an instant flashback to that Sunday afternoon whenever I hear the opening notes of The Entertainer. I bought the 45 single shortly afterwards. Regardless of how anachronistic the music might have been it is a perfect counterbalance to the story. If they went with a more conventional score it might have altered the tone. Despite its dramatic themes the film is a lot of fun and I can still watch it and become totally absorbed in the story. The pacing is perfect and I cannot think of many lulls or dull moments. Even at such a young age I was riveted to the story and never felt lost by the various twists and turns. I never cared much for films targeted for my age group and preferred adult movies. I miss the 70's. 😔😔😔😔

The name Newman used during the poker game was Shaw, not Johnny Hooker.

Johnny Hooker was name of Redford’s character.

Being from Chicago, when that scene in the train station was shot, local news outlets where happy to declare Chicago's Union Station as the location. Why would the producers build a set so elaborate when it's already built, there, ready for the camera?
